Chelsea FC more or less dominated the Premier League last season. They led from the front for the majority of the campaign and ended up winning by an 8 point margin. In fact, the gap between the Blues and Manchester City could have been even greater if it wasn’t for a few slip-ups on the home stretch.

Last season did not end up being too competitive, and that was largely due to Chelsea’s supposed title challengers being relatively poor and failing to take advantage of any mistakes from Jose Mourinho’s men. This season should be different and in this series we will profile and evaluate the sides looking to challenge for the Premier League crown.
Today we focus on Chelsea FC’s history-obsessed perennial rivals, Liverpool Football Club. The Merseyside outfit may not have achieved much trophy-wise in the last few years, but they do always seem to find the constant optimism that something good is around the corner.
They have lost their iconic former captain, Steven Gerrard, to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy after he refused to accept the terms of the new contract offered to him last season. In his place, the once underrated England international, Jordan Henderson, has been given the responsibility of leading the team into the 2015/16 campaign.
