Chelsea FC Transfer Rumours: Pedro, Paul Pogba, WIllian, More!

The transfer season is in full swing, so let’s take a look at what transfer rumours concerning Chelsea FC are flying around the press this morning.

Pedro

In a bizarre Wednesday morning, Chelsea somehow muscled their way to the front of the queue for Pedro’s signature, and the £21.1million deal is set to be closed imminently. How did the Blues manage to gazump Manchester United? Apparently phone calls from the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Jose Mourinho helped. However, probably the most important exchange was between Cesc’s girlfriend and Pedro’s better half!

Willian

In news that I never wanted to hear, reports have surfaced that Chelsea have offered Willian to a pair of European giants following the Pedro developments. Arguably Chelsea’s only shining light in a dire season so far, the club have made Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich aware of his availability. I usually don’t believe half the stuff I write in this column, but this is something that I REALLY hope is not true.

Paul Pogba

Everything is really happening in the aftermath of the Pedro swoop, and now it looks like Paul Pogba is closer to a Stamford Bridge move than he ever has been. After news of the Pedro move broke, the betting markets saw a huge increase in the amount of money being put on Pogba coming to Chelsea, thus forcing the bookies to slash the odds of the event occurring.

"And Betfair now claim Pogba could be next on their shopping list. They’ve slashed their price to 6/4 on the French midfielder completing a switch to Stamford Bridge.Michael Bowers, Football Trader for Betfair, said: “After a flood of bets on Chelsea to sign Paul Pogba, the Blues have been cut from 7/1 to 6/4 favourite.” – The Daily Star"

Branislav Ivanovic

Chelsea’s policy of handing one-year contract extensions to players aged over 30 have caused rumours to start swirling over Ivanovic’s future in West London. The defender’s deal is set to run out at the end of the season, but he is yet to receive an offer to keep him through the next campaign. Having said that, John Terry had to wait until after Christmas to sign his extension last time out.

"Ivanovic has one year left on contract yet Chelsea have still to offer a new deal with club policy now to hand out one-year extensions to players over 30.Several top clubs in England and abroad are monitoring his situation.
