Feruz joined Chelsea in the summer of 2011 from Celtic for a fee worth around £300,000. The then 15-year-old proceeded to spend a few years in Stamford Bridge’s youth set-up and has contributed to the FA Youth Cup wins of 2012 and 2014.
In September of last year Feruz was sent out on his first loan, joining Superleague Greece outfit OFI Crete. This was a short term deal and the Scot returned to West London having received very little playing time.
This was followed by a spell at Blackpool FC that began in January of this year. Again Feruz failed to get significant playing time and mostly played spectator to the turmoil immersing Bloomfield Road.

Hopefully this move back to his homeland will be more fruitful. Although he left Celtic at a very young age, he has represented Scotland at levels from U16 through to U21. Now he will look to help get Hibs get over the line and back into the Scottish Premiership after they failed in the play-off stage last time out.
The fact that he has a long-term loan arrangement should bode well for his development too. Short loan spells barely give a player an opportunity to fit in properly, especially a teenager. With this agreement, Feruz knows that he has the full season at Hibs and that should enable the player along with manager Alan Stubbs to effectively employ and enhance his skills.

The striker spoke to the Hibs website and is looking forward to such prospects.
"I am excited to be be coming back to Scotland and get some first team football under my belt…The manager has shown faith me and I’m looking forward to repaying it by giving 100% when I’m selected."
Stubbs is also eager to get the most out of his talent.
"We would like to thank Chelsea for allowing Islam to join us on loan, and we’re looking forward to helping him realise his undoubted potential."
Feruz has been handed the number 20 shirt and all that is left is for us to wish him the best of luck. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on his development here at The Pride of London.
