Chelsea FC Marketing Department Fail At Marketing
Chelsea FC’s marketing department have trolled the Stamford Bridge faithful with a poorly timed email sent after the Everton loss
Football is a business these days. We get that. But after Jose Mourinho blasted his medical staff for lacking football knowledge, perhaps Chelsea FC’s marketing department deserve a dressing down too.

The Blues lost their third game of the Premier League campaign (out of five) on Saturday afternoon with Roberto Martinez and Everton outplaying them en route to a 3-1 victory. In a sucker-punch that prompted Mourinho to question his team’s luck, Steven Naismith came off the bench to replace Muhamed Besic in the 9th minute before going on to score all three Toffees goals.
To credit the Scot further, he completed a perfect hat-trick by scoring with his head, left foot and right foot in that order.
As if Chelsea fans had not suffered enough, the Megatore team sent out an email after the game informing them of a ‘hat-trick of offers’.
Really?
Yeah really.
Frankly because football is not exactly a matter of life and death for me (shock, horror) I find this endlessly amusing. How could someone working in marketing not realise that perhaps such a title would not be a great idea given what happened at Goodison Park? Seriously, you would think that there would be one person who would stick their hand up. Someone. An intern. The janitor.
To be fair, these emails are probably scheduled much in advance and therefore they had most likely forgotten about it.
Well the outrage from Chelsea fans is an apt enough reminder.
Amongst all the anger and abuse, there were those who were able to see the funny side of it. Some even complimented the Megastore staff for their humour, intended or not.
This latest error from Chelsea FC as an entity underlines how badly the 2015/16 season has gone so far. The Blues are already 11 points off league-leaders Manchester City after just five games and do not look like gaining ground any time soon.

While Chelsea’s performance against Everton was more promising going forward, the defence and midfield is still a shambles that seemingly has no remedy. Jose Mourinho cut a very morose figure in his post-match interview as he addressed the spot that he finds himself in.
Mourinho had also stormed out of his pre-match media commitment after being pressed upon the John Stones saga. The player, meanwhile, did his level best to show why Chelsea should have bid £100million for his services.
Things are just going from bad to worse for the Blues and this latest blunder from the administrative staff sufficiently sums up the whole situation.
