What the hell is going on? No-one seems to have an answer yet. Chelsea’s campaign moves on to Wednesday night, when they take on Maccabi Tel-Aviv in their first game in this season’s edition of the Champions League.
While the Blues headed into this term with sights set on winning Europe’s crown jewel, now Wednesday’s game seems like the last opportunity for the club to get this abysmal campaign back on track.

Four points in five league games leaves the Blues one point off the Premier League’s relegation zone. In fact, if Newcastle United overcome West Ham later today, then Chelsea will indeed slip into the chasm.
The team look hapless and Jose Mourinho looks hopeless. How can a club that strolled to the league title last season be so bad this time around? All we know is that a miraculous recovery is needed to make anything of this mess.
The good news is that a ball has not been kicked in the Champions League proper thus far and so Chelsea can enter Wednesday’s game with feigned optimism. Having said that, everyone associated with the club understands the importance of getting a victory under the lights.
After sticking with largely the same players throughout this poor spell, Mourinho may well be ringing the changes against Maccabi. Here is how we think Chelsea will line-up.
