Chelsea FC Loanee Victor Moses Continues Good Form For West Ham
Victor Moses put in another useful performance as the Hammers defeated Manchester City 2-1
Victor Moses really has a point to prove. At least that is how it seems. The Nigerian was somewhat unjustly snubbed by Chelsea FC this season and yet again sent out on loan, this time to West Ham United. In his first two appearances for the Hammers he has shown what the Blues are missing.

Moses seriously impressed in his West Ham debut and was instrumental in a great Hammers performance that saw them defeat Newcastle United 2-0. The winger showcased all his pace, trickery and strength in an outing that only lacked the reward of a goal (he did hit the crossbar, though).
Slaven Bilic’s high-flying side subsequently traveled to The Etihad to take on the Premier League-perfect Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, a team that had failed to concede a single goal in their first five victorious fixtures. Moses again got the start on the right flank and almost immediately atoned for his inability to score a goal last time out.
The extremely impressive Dimitri Payet picked up the ball in midfield and drove towards the goal. He then shifted the ball across to Moses, who found himself in plenty of space. The 24-year-old took a few touches before unleashing a well-struck shot at goal. The beautiful cut on the ball meant that it nestled into the bottom right corner of the net; Joe Hart had no chance.
From a City point of view, the defending was terrible. Aleksandr Kolarov failed to put any pressure on Moses allowing him enough time to compose himself and line one up. This sixth minute effort set West Ham on their way to a surprise 2-1 victory at the home of the league-leaders.
The Hammers went 2-0 up with around 15 minutes left in the half as a consequence of some more slack City defending. Winston Reid was more or less gifted a free header as he attacked a corner. Although his effort did not yield the goal, the ensuing melee in the box was eventually turned in by Diafra Sakho for his second goal of the Premier League campaign.
Kevin De Bruyne scored his first Premier League goal of his career shortly before half-time with a well struck long-range effort similar to that of Moses. This preceeded what would be a Man City onslaught in the second period. West Ham, reminiscent of Chelsea at the Nou Camp, pulled out an heroic defensive display to keep the second half scoreless and come away with the win.

The result means that City’s 100% league record has gone in a week where they lost to Juventus at home in Champions League too. More importantly, Chelsea are now only eight points off the summit. It is going to take a miracle to successfully defend this title, but the West Ham win has gone some way to help.
Moses, meanwhile, once again showed the quality that was evident towards the end of his last loan spell at Stoke City and on Chelsea’s pre-season tour. He hasn’t yet been able to get a consistent run in any of the teams that he has been sent to, but West Ham seems to be a good fit for him.
At the age of 24, if he were to continue with his current form, he may well be lining up in either a Chelsea shirt, or the shirt of a top club somewhere in Europe, by August 2016.
