Chelsea FC return to Premier League matters as they pay a visit to Newcastle United this weekend
Chelsea have now made it three wins in a row. From a footballing crisis to a blossoming flower (kind of), the club’s season has almost completed a 360 degree turn. With games continuing to come thick and fast, the Blues will be itching to overcome Newcastle United as they ride the current confidence.
Jose Mourinho was fending off questions regarding turmoil within the dressing room and calls from some quarters for his sacking just over a week ago. He subsequently fielded a changed Chelsea team in their opening Champions League fixture against Maccabi Tel-Aviv and came away with an emphatic 4-0 win.

Weary about viewing the victory over sub-standard opposition as too impressive, the boss and the players showed a grit and determination that had not yet been seen in the campaign in the following game. Chelsea found the ruthless attitude typical of a Mourinho team as they plotted their way to a 2-0 win against Arsenal.
The Blues then successfully negotiated a potentially embarrassing banana skin by blasting past Walsall FC 4-1 and into the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
Now, the Premier League returns and Chelsea’s recent bogey team in Newcastle are the opposition. The West Londoners will be without a suspended Diego Costa as they make the long trip to the northeast of England to square off against a Toon side that seems perennially in chaos (they haven’t won so far this season).
With that in mind, here is how Chelsea may line-up.
