The Blues disappointed in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United yesterday afternoon. Here are the Chelsea player ratings.
Chelsea FC came into an important game against Newcastle United with a chance to bring themselves closer to the top of the Premier League. With Manchester City slipping up earlier in the day, the Blues’ title defence was back on. If Chelsea could come away with a victory they would be within 6 points of Manchester United, and 5 points of second place City.
While Diego Costa was serving the second of his three-game suspension, they would certainly benefit from the added pace of Loic Remy. However, with Chelsea’s star striker sitting out, a big performance was much needed from the Frenchman.

Oscar was able to get into the starting side once again for the second straight week. The Brazilian was a field general for Chelsea FC in the midfield. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go all that well despite the decent play of Oscar. The Blues fell two goals behind the Magpies before they mounted a miracle comeback with a 79th minute strike from Ramires and a late free kick from substitute Willian.
The draw sees Chelsea gain a point. Although it is incredibly disappointing to not take advantage of dropped points elsewhere, Chelsea still gain one.
With that in mind, here are the player ratings:
The ratings are on a scale of 1-10 with 10 representing Lionel Messi, and 1 being Fernando Torres. Players who come on after 70 minutes do not receive a rating due to a lack of playing time.
