Jose Mourinho has slammed his Chelsea FC team after another disappointing result against Newcastle United.
The Blues managed to salvage a 2-2 draw from the fixture at St James’ Park after a pair of substitutes in Willian and Ramires provided an injection of adrenaline into a terrible Chelsea showing. Having fallen 2-0 down, Mourinho’s men were somewhat lucky to escape with a point but the two-goal comeback does nothing to alleviate the mediocrity of the performance.

The Chelsea boss, far from taking his usual angle of blaming everyone but his team, could not deny the fact that the Blues downright sucked. Mourinho even admitted that he wanted to sub as many as six of the starting XI at half-time.
"I am not a magician, I tried my best for the team. At half-time I said I was sorry I only had three subs as I wanted to change six."
He won’t be alone in thinking that after Chelsea turned in what was probably the worst first half display that we have witnessed from the club this season. Not only that, but it was as bad as any 45 minutes that I can remember.
However, while it is refreshing to see Mourinho actually lambast his players for once, part of the blame must be pinned on him. Chelsea have been disappointing throughout the season with their only two decent performances coming in cup games.
The opposition in these fixtures (Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Walsall) may not have been particularly threatening, but the players who were picked in these matches displayed an attitude and mentality that the supposed 1st XI have been lacking.
There have been many calls for the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Abdul Baba Rahman and Kenedy to be handed a Premier League start purely based on form. While they are all young and inexperienced, given Chelsea’s predicament and repeatedly stagnant showings, it was definitely worth giving just one of these players the nod.
Mourinho has thus far refused to do so and Chelsea have continued to put in uninspired displays in the Premier League.

The boss then shed more light on reasons behind the Blues’ failings and zeroed in on an inability to play as a team.
"I put it down to awful individual performances. When you have so many bad individual performances, it’s impossible for a team to be a team."
Football is a team game and we all know that. When you have 11 poorly performing players on the field, the collective effort is a multiple of that mediocrity. Furthermore, despite what some people may have you believe, one player simply cannot carry a team either. Chelsea need its spine to stiffen up again whether that be through motivating the senior members or bringing in fresh, hungry talent.
The issue is that when the same players are looking awful but are being sent out each week, it is on the manager to force the solution. Change it up Jose, please.
