Chelsea FC continue their Champions League campaign as they travel to Porto. Here is the predicted starting XI.

The Blues have fallen right back to earth with an almighty thud. After brief respite, Chelsea returned to the terrible form that has thus far characterised their season and put in another awful showing against Newcastle United on Saturday. Substitutes Ramires and Willian saved a point for the Blues as they could only manage a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park.

Two weeks ago, Jose Mourinho was preparing his side for what seemed like a make or break game against Maccabi Tel-Aviv. His much-changed team duly delivered a decent showing and ran over the Israeli visitors 4-0. This was followed by a gritty performance that saw off Arsenal 2-0 and a demolition of Walsall 4-1.

Chelsea were riding high on confidence as they entered the weekend’s match against Newcastle. However, Jose’s insistence on keeping faith with under-performing stars resulted in a hapless performance and two points dropped.

Now all eyes will turn to the Estádio do Dragão as Mourinho returns to face the team that made him 11 years ago. It will be interesting to see how the Blues set-up and how the Chelsea boss handles what will undoubtedly be an emotional occasion.

With all that in mind, here is the predicted Chelsea starting XI.
