Chelsea lost yet again earlier today as they fell to Southampton. Here are some of the best reactions from around the Twitter world.
Chelsea FC welcomed Southampton to Stamford Bridge this afternoon in a crunch Premier League tie. Having endured a torrid start to the season, the Blues were hoping for a win to get their campaign back on track. Unfortunately, Ronald Koeman’s side failed to play along and instead earned a much deserved 3-1 win.

As has now become the norm, everyone took to Twitter to react to the Chelsea loss. Given that this result pushes the Blues down to 16th position and represents the club’s worst start for 35 or 37 years (depending on who you ask), some people were more than aggrieved while some were defiant. There were also some neutrals who were downright loving it. Here are some of the best tweets.
Shed End season ticket holder, @IainRodger1, was firmly in the camp that feels that the crisis has been rather overblown.
Worst start for 35 years? Seems very recent, glad I can remember it, shows how good we've been during that time. Delighted I'm a Chelsea fan

He does have a point to a degree. Chelsea have been accustomed to unprecedented success in recent times which has made some people forget that football clubs do go through rough periods. The only (British) exception to this rule has been Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson. Even they have fallen off a cliff since the Scot left too.
@ash_habib tweeted a message in solidarity with under-fire Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Apart from John Terry no one on the #CFC payroll loves Chelsea as much as Jose #CFC #Fact

A lot of people out there have jumped on the #MourinhoOut bandwagon. Frankly, I think it’s nonsense. Jose is arguably the best active coach in the world and he truly loves the club. I can see few other people who will be better positioned to turn the season around. Furthermore, Mourinho cannot be expected to win trophies every season (although a top 4 spot should be).
Chelsea HQ took a moment to congratulate Southampton on what was an impressive performance.
Credit to Southampton, fantastic performance from a fantastic team. Made it too easy for them.

Nothing can be taken away from Ronald Koeman’s men. The Saints were fantastic and certainly deserved to emerge with the three points. Chelsea may have been poor, but the opposition still needs to capitalise on it and that much they did. Hell, they came back from a goal down too.
Then, of course, the jokers were out in force to pile on the misery. Before we get to that, Piers Morgan weighed in with a few words of…he weighed in words. However, one of the replies stole the show.
@piersmorgan theyll still finish above you

@TweetChelseaFC managed to see the humour in the whole affair.
International break next week, good news for us as it means a weekend without a Chelsea loss.

While Chelsea Stats drew an all too valid comparison with the England Rugby team who were knocked out of the Rugby World Cup this evening as well.
Even Liverpool fans were invigorated enough to mock Chelsea, which only further emphasises the dire state that the club are in.

People were also speculating about who Mourinho’s successor may be should the Portuguese be sacked.

And I’ll leave you with the tweet that truly sums up the atmosphere at the club following the loss.
Amazing game. Smattering of boos there, not all of stadium. No-one at Chelsea seemed to know what to do by the end of the game...

Well said, Miguel.
