Thibaut Courtois Provides Update, Engulfed By Inflatable Object
What’s happened to Thibaut Courtois’ legs?
Chelsea FC goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has kindly kept fans informed about his recovery from injury through Instagram. In his latest update, half of his body gets eaten by a massive inflatable balloon.

Courtois refers to it as the ‘anti-gravity treadmill’ (*shrugs shoulders*). Nevertheless, he evidently views it as a step towards full fitness and I am no-one to argue.
The Belgian was injured during training a few weeks back with Asmir Begovic filling in for him in his absence. While Courtois seems pleased with his progress, it is believed that this knee injury will keep him out until December at the earliest. Consequently, the Blues have been linked with Italian World Cup Winner Marco Amelia as they seek experienced cover for Begovic.
Currently, Jamal Blackman has taken the spot on the bench, but given Chelsea’s troubles, Jose Mourinho seemingly feels that it is not worth sticking with an untested goalkeeper should Begovic succumb to injury.
However, while news of Courtois’ recovery can help Blues fans take their mind of the abysmal form of their team, goalkeeper is probably the position that they are least concerned about.
Begovic has been the club’s sole outstanding player in this campaign so far. The Bosnian has been fantastic between the sticks for Chelsea even though this may not be initially obvious given the club’s poor results. The fact is that the Blues would have conceded a whole lot more, and lost a few more games, had Begovic not been performing to such an impressive level.

The outfield players have proven to be Chelsea’s downfall as repeated subpar performances have allowed opposition teams of varying quality to find a way into their net. The club seems to be lacking the motivation and desire to fight hard to win games, let alone win the a trophy.
The situation has escalated to the point that the club have issued a statement in support of Mourinho. Blues fans also started to voice their concerns after some questionable substitutions during the Southampton loss. Nemanja Matic was asked to leave the field not long after he was brought on, while the only goalscorer, Willian, was taken off as well.
The club are in full-blown crisis mode and everybody associated with the Blues needs to rally around in order to pull through. Begovic may be more than ably standing in, but having Courtois back will certainly help to refresh the squad.
