Chelsea FC v Southampton: Post-Match Reflections
DLWLLWDL…Chelsea FC’s 2015/2016 Premier League season in summary! In all my years as a Chelsea supporter, this is the bleakest period I have witnessed. What makes it even worse is that it is actually occurring under the guidance of probably the greatest coach the club has ever had I actually thought that it couldn’t get any worse than the dire 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, but after Saturday’s performance, I stand corrected!
When a manager who has been largely responsible for 3 of the 5 EPL titles won by the club looks lost and out of sorts in the dug-out against a side boasting 2 players rejected by him in their starting 11, there doesn’t seem to be much room for optimism going forward. The Blues have now gained just 8 points from a corresponding set of fixtures that produced 14 points last season…6 points lost!
