Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend as they take on Aston Villa.

With the international break ruining yet another weekend in the life of a football fan, the Premier League return tomorrow for the next stretch of games. Chelsea FC play host to Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa as they look to get another month of domestic affairs off to a positive start.

With just four wins and eight points from eight league games, it is safe to say that the Blues are deep in crisis. Languishing in 16th place, Jose Mourinho and his players looked devoid of any inspiration or quality.

While the international break is usually lambasted from breaking up club momentum, there were few people associated with Chelsea who complained about it this time. After such a poor start to the 2015/16 campaign, time away from the troubles of domestic football is perhaps exactly what the players needed.

Mourinho stated in his pre-match press conference that no squad member was in better form with their country than they have been with the Blues. This has comforted him as it suggests that there is little wrong with the tactics, and that Chelsea’s difficulties are largely down to the players being completely out of sorts – an issue that can be fixed.

With at least one Blues player returning from international duty injured, let’s try and predict how Chelsea will line up on Saturday afternoon.
