Chelsea FC Defeat Aston Villa 2-0
Chelsea FC returned to Barclays Premier League action on Saturday with a win at home against Aston Villa. With both teams floundering in the league, there was an equal amount of pressure to get a result. Chelsea a win, and Villa a draw. Unfortunately for the visitors, it would be only one victory in their last 14 trips to Stamford Bridge now.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Baba Rahman were inserted into the starting XI, while Diego Costa would make his return following a three match suspension.
Costa would be the one to punish Villa, scoring the opener, and creating the second.

Willian would take advantage of a defensive error, and find Costa who was left with a simple finish. The goal came with 33 minutes gone, maybe a bit later than when Chelsea wanted, but a lead is a lead nonetheless.
The Blues would then double the lead in the 54th minute.
Cesc Fabregas found Costa with a lovely lobbed pass. The forward, feeling confident after a good first half display, took on his defender and got a shot off. The ball deflected off of Alan Hutton, and beat Brad Guzan.
Following the goal, the game slowed down, and the Chelsea players seemed to know Villa just didn’t have enough firepower to fight back from a 2-0 deficit.
The inevitable chants of “boring boring Chelsea” were sung by the Villa supporters, but it would be music to the ears of Chelsea fans, as opposing fanbases usually sing that when their side are losing.
After getting the much needed victory, Chelsea would now turn their focus to the UEFA Champions League, as they travel to Dynamo Kiev next Tuesday.
