This was a second home win of the season that did little to dispel the cloud of pessimism surrounding the club during this period that can aptly be termed “a dark age” in the annals of Chelsea FC. The game lacked any form of spark, which could be blamed largely on the fact that it was between currently two of the worst (if you could take Sunderland out of the equation) sides in the Premier League.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United managed to take all three points in their respective games (and scored more goals as well), effectively negating the 3 points the Blues MANAGED to pick up. There were just a few positives to be taken from the game which will be highlighted in these reflections.
