3. Chelsea Need A New Striker

Apart from the defensive frailties, another area where Chelsea are lacking a punch is in the attacking department. Diego Costa is a brilliant striker who had a stellar first season with Chelsea. However, his performances this season have been a far cry from what we are used to seeing week in, week out.

When a player such as Gary Cahill is required to equalize for Chelsea, one can sense that there is a severe lack of attacking proficiency. With only two goals this season, Costa is definitely not hitting the mark he has set for himself from the last campaign.

With a backup strike force comprising of a misfiring Radamel Falcao and an injured and unpredictable Loic Remy, there is a dire need to use the January market to buy a new striker and boost the quality up front. This is particularly valid given the rumours linking Falcao with a January loan termination.

A team can only go so far relying on the goals from their midfield and defensive players. With Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas misfiring and out of form, Chelsea need to solve some major problems up front. The January transfer window can’t come fast enough for us can it?
