Chelsea hope to avenge the loss.

Chelsea FC travel up to the West Midlands this weekend as they pay a visit to Stoke City. After an inspiring late win against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday, the Blues will be looking to avenge the loss handed to them by Mark Hughes’ men in the League Cup.

Jose Mourinho’s job was reportedly in jeopardy as his side slumped to their third consecutive defeat last weekend. Chelsea gave up a one goal lead to fall 3-1 at the feet of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to follow a Premier League loss against West Ham United.

This pair of negative results were interrupted by a departure from the Capital One Cup, courtesy of a Stoke victory via a penalty shoot-out.

Despite the continued poor form, the Blues supporters admirably rallied around both the players and Mourinho as they egged their club on to a crucial Champions League win midweek.

The most encouraging sign to come out of Wednesday evening’s match was that, for the first time this season, Chelsea did not crumble when the opposition got back into the game. Where the 74th minute equaliser may have seen the Blues give in earlier during the season, Willian stepped up to drag the team over the line.

Mourinho thanked the fans for their support after the game, but he needs to ensure that their commitment continues to be rewarded with positive results.

So let’s see how Chelsea may line-up.
