Chelsea FC: Heaven And Hell

The attacking Heaven and Hell teams are littered with flops, drug cheats and angels amongst the 39 players that Chelsea FC have used in this period.

The Heaven contenders included the likes of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Eider Gudjohnsen, Gianluca Vialli and Mark Hughes but I could only choose two so I plumped for:

ST Didier Drogba: Who else! The man, the player that he became after a word from John Terry about his diving techniques meant he is an automatic choice in any World Eleven, let alone a Chelsea FC team of the last 20 years!

ST Gianfranco Zola: The little wizard, the genius with a football at his foot and a giant of a gentleman are just some of the terms used to describe Gianfranco. To me he is still the best footballer I have ever had the pleasure of watching in the flesh.

I have ignored the so called smaller fry when choosing my two attackers for the Hell team, but still had to consider the likes of Fernando Torres, Daniel Sturridge, Romelu Lukaku, Adrian Mutu and Carlton Cole. There were however two outstanding

winners

losers and they are:

ST Chris Sutton: One goal in 28 Premier League matches summed up the great English hope that Chelsea FC signed from Blackburn Rovers. In his last season with Blackburn he only managed three goals so maybe the warning signs should have been heeded!

ST Andriy Shevchenko: Roman Abramovich’s mate (allegedly) didn’t exactly set the goalscoring charts alight with his 48 appearances, netting just the nine times. Was he Roman’s signing? If he wasn’t then I hope Roman sacked whoever was responsible!
