3. Crystal Palace, 18/10/14
Premier League, Selhurst Park
A simply ridiculous free-kick. Oscar stood over the ball some 25 yards from the net with it being clear that he would be the only person to strike it.
Yet this warning could not help Julian Speroni, such was the quality of the effort. Out on the right hand side of the pitch, generally players will go up and over the wall and into the right hand corner.
Not Oscar.
He took a two-step run up before absolutely nailing the spherical object with the inside of his right boot. The power and swerve that he was able to generate was unreal as the ball flew into the top left corner of the net in a flash.
Speroni just could not get close to it.
This converted set-piece would open the scoring in what would be a 2-1 Chelsea victory as the Blues marched towards the Premier League crown.
