18. Demba Ba vs Manchester City – 2012/13

After his goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup this season (which may or may not be on this list), Demba Ba was handed the start against Manchester City. Chelsea came out sluggish and City punished them by jumping out to a 2-0 lead courtesy of Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero. The Blues were desperate for a spark and Demba Ba provided it.

A lofted ball from deep in the Chelsea half came to the outside of the box and Fernando Torres could not make contact so it fell between Ba and Vincent Kompany. The average striker may have tried to take a touch to control the bouncing ball but Ba is not your average striker.

The Senegal international squared up with his back to goal, swiveled using every inch of his wiry frame, and let fly on his bicycle with his right boot. The shot flew past City keeper Costel Pantilimon to send the Chelsea fans into raptures. The Blues ultimately lost the match and were knocked out of the FA Cup but that was truly a goal to remember.
