15. Frank Lampard vs Bolton Wanderers – 2004/05

Frank Lampard’s double against Bolton Wanderers during the 2004/05 season was an achievement 50 years in the making. The Blues had last won the top-flight in 1955 and like clockwork, they won it again in 2005. Coming in to the match any result would have done the trick but Mourinho’s men and his top lieutenant Frank Lampard were not going to settle for a draw.

Bolton held out for 60 minutes but then came the breakthrough from the greatest midfielder to ever wear a Chelsea FC shirt. 15 minutes later, Lampard doubled Chelsea’s lead and just like that they had won the Premier League. It was the crowning achievement in one of the most dominant domestic campaigns and who better to score it than the man who would one day become the all-time leading scorer in club history.
