Jose Mourinho has been sacked as manager of Chelsea FC, according to reports.
Chelsea FC have looked a broken team ever since the start of the season in England. Their team unity has been in shambles, and the flow that pushed them to the top of the league last season is completely gone. Their tumultuous start to the season has put an enormous amount of pressure on manager Jose Mourinho. Today, the pressure has finally cracked.
The news has trickled in that the Portuguese tactician has been sacked by Roman Abramovich. This comes after Chelsea started off their title defense with the worst start to a title defense of all time. Throughout the season in the Premier League, Champions League, and Capital One Cup, they haven’t looked like a side worth much of anything. In fact, Chelsea have be in tatters and have struck fear in absolutely no team in England, or around the globe.
Many Chelsea fans believed Jose was the man to take Chelsea back from the bottom of the league to relevance. Unfortunately, the plea from fans didn’t seem to properly reach the ear of Abramovich. Jose leaving for a second time has left Chelsea fans worldwide wondering if anyone can be the manager that he has been for Chelsea in the past. He was called the “Special One” for a reason. He brought Chelsea FC from an average side, to the top of England and challenging around Europe in the Champions League.
Stars like Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, and many more have thrived under Mourinho throughout the years. Jose has brought an air around Chelsea that made them a destination spot in Europe and serious players in the transfer market. But with more losses in the first few months of the season then the entirety of their title winning effort last season, patience has finally ran out.
The sacking will disappoint many Chelsea supporters who backed Mourinho to stay through the hard start to the season. Sadly, for all of the the manager’s fans, including myself, it is time to move on, focus on the club we love and support the man who takes the hot seat next. However, whoever it may be, there is no doubt that Jose will be looked upon with both appreciation and love from Chelsea fans.
He was the man who with the backing of Roman has brought Chelsea FC fans many, many glorious moments, and he will be missed. His replacement will surely not bring the same fire and interesting energy that Jose has brought to Chelsea. He has been special to Chelsea fans and an iconic part in the rise of Chelsea in the last 10 years.
The years with you have been fantastic Jose. Thank you for the great job of managing superstars at Chelsea FC, for winning games, and for being the “Special One” throughout your time at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately, this is it. The tumultuous season has resulted in the loss of the best manager in the world.
