Reports: Guus Hiddink To Replace Jose Mourinho At Chelsea FC
Ex-Chelsea FC boss Guus Hiddink is set to takeover from Jose Mourinho, according to reports.
It has happened. Chelsea FC have officially confirmed that Jose Mourinho has left the club. The news broke just under an hour ago, with the club statement claiming that his departure is by mutual consent. Now, The Telegraph reports that Guus Hiddink is set to replace him in the short-term.
Chief Football Writer Sam Wallace states that it has indeed been confirmed, at least internally.
"The Dutch coach Guus Hiddink will take over from Jose Mourinho at Chelsea in his second spell as caretaker manager of the club until the end of the season.Hiddink, 69, has been given the temporary job by the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his technical director Michael Emenalo after Mourinho was told his time was up this afternoon. He will meet the Chelsea players tomorrow morning and take training ahead of Saturday’s game against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge."

As stated, this would be Hiddink’s second stint at Stamford Bridge, having fulfilled a similar duty some six years ago. During the 2008/09 season, the Dutch tactician saved Chelsea’s season by bringing the FA Cup back to West London.
Hiddink managed to secure third place for the Blues after a disastrous (although not as bad this) spell under the direction of Luiz Felipe Scolari. He then steered Chelsea to Wembley, where they defeated Everton 2-1 in the 2009 FA Cup Final.

Now, it appears that he has been called again to rescue the club as they genuinely face a relegation battle.
During his first stint, Hiddink only committed to the caretaker role due to his position as manager of Russia. However, the Dutchman currently finds himself unemployed and thus while this appointment again is only a short-term solution, an impressive showing could open up an opportunity.
At the moment, details are still emerging regarding Mourinho’s departure with the club claiming that it was by mutual consent. Whatever the case may be, the Special One’s tenure at Stamford Bridge has come to an end for the second time. Furthermore, at this stage in his career, we may have seen the last of the legendary coach in West London.
While Chelsea fans are overwhelmingly disappointed by the his dismissal, the fans now must support whoever comes in as his replacement. The Telegraph are indeed adamant that it will be Ancelotti, but we are yet to hear confirmation.

Chelsea need to find a way to get out this mess and this will involve the fans showing as much support for the incoming caretaker as they did to Mourinho.
Unfortunately, initial indications are that Roman Abramovich will be in for an ear-bashing on Saturday.
Let’s not even get started on the players.
