The Blues are in a awful spot after a well-documented disastrous campaign thus far. Their opening 16 Premier League games have yielded nine losses, a run that has left them just one point above the relegation zone in 16th position.

After accusations that he had lost the support of the dressing room, the Blues brass informed Mourinho of the situation at 2pm yesterday.
