4. Pep Guardiola

The former Barcelona boss is probably the only manager of the modern day that rivals Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho in terms of trophy strike rate. Since taking over the Catalans in 2008, Pep Guardiola has won 10 major trophies between his three years at the Nou Camp and two seasons with Bayern Munich.

The Spaniard has stated that he will make an announcement regarding his future next week. With his Bayern contract set to run out, it is widely believed that Guardiola will be leaving the Allianz Arena in the summer.

After Mourinho’s dismissal, those who are not still seething from the decision are licking their lips at the prospect.

However, Chelsea face intense competition for his signature. Manchester City have been linked with the 44-year-old for some time now, as Manuel Pellegrini’s mandate becomes increasingly weak each day. Furthermore, Arsenal, who are arguably the best fit for him in terms of players and style of football, are reportedly willing to finally ditch Arsene Wenger should Guardiola be interested.

Also, with the players seemingly engineering Mourinho’s exit, the Spanish tactician may just feel that he cannot be bothered to deal with the nonsense and hence rule himself out.

Having said that, you can always dream, right?
