25. Eden Hazard – Fee: £32m

The true impact of Eden Hazard’s signing has yet to be fully quantified but he makes the list on sheer talent alone. His fee was impressive enough with the Blues paying Lille £32 million to acquire him in the summer of 2012, but it has been his play that has made it look like a bargain.

It took the Belgian star a few months to find his feet in the Premier League but before long he was breaking the ankles of fullbacks and making center backs look silly. When Jose Mourinho took over in 2013, there was some initial friction as the winger was asked to do more than ever before but he responded in time and became the Premier League’s best player in 2014/15.

Hazard struggled for form during the 2015/15 campaign but bounced back a year later. He is considered one of the most talented players in the world and his potential is endless. If Chelsea FC hang on to this talisman of a player for the remainder of his career then expect him to become a legend of the club like some of the other big names on this list.
