Jose Mourinho will continue to receive mega money from Chelsea FC as a result of his dismissal as manager last week.
Chelsea changed things up last Thursday as they sacked Jose Mourinho after a loss against Leicester City proved to be the final straw for owner Roman Abramovich. With the club racking up nine losses in 16 Premier League games to that point, the Russian billionaire eventually severed ties with the Special One, ending his second stint in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho had signed a new four-year contract this summer after leading the Blues to both Premier League and League Cup glory last season. Consequently, the club will reportedly pay the price for dispensing with his services. The Telegraph details the supposed terms of the severance package.
"Under the terms of his Stamford Bridge departure, it is believed Mourinho will continue to be paid by Chelsea until he finds another job. It is also understood, however, that Chelsea will have to make up the shortfall in any wage cut Mourinho accepts at a new club until the end of this season."

It was unlikely that Mourinho would have agreed to a departure without getting his worth, especially given that the poor results have been generally pinned on the players rather than himself. Furthermore, this also explains the supposed ‘mutual consent‘ aspect of his dismissal.
With these eye-watering figures, the Portuguese tactician may even be enjoying his current time off. He is still burning a hole in Chelsea’s coffers without having to deal with the divas and egos at Stamford Bridge.

What is perhaps a bigger kick in the teeth for the Blues brass is the potential circumstances in which they may have to continue paying him. It appears as though he is guaranteed £10 million for this season, whether or not he takes up a new job. Rumours claim that he will have to take a significant wage-cut in order to manage Manchester United and thus Chelsea will have to make up the rest for the year.
Should the stars align in a particular manner, we could see Roman Abramovich paying Jose Mourinho as he leads Manchester United to the Premier League title.
While that will hurt Blues fans from a club perspective, it will certainly please a few of those infuriated by his sacking on a personal level.
