Reports: Chelsea FC In Mega Bid For Leicester City Frontman Jamie Vardy
Chelsea FC are believed to be readying a massive bid for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to reports.
Jamie Vardy has been in incredible form throughout this campaign, hitting the back of the net time after time as Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester have ascended to the summit of the Premier League. Now, Chelsea are thought to be one of the clubs interested in making a material move for the striker in January.
The Telegraph reports that the Blues will go head-to-head with Manchester City in a £30 million battle for Vardy, although the Foxes will do their utmost to keep him at the King Power Stadium.
"Leicester, the Premier League leaders, are determined to keep Vardy and will offer him a new contract and a salary increase, but it is unlikely to stop Chelsea making a January bid…An offer from Chelsea or another significant injury to Sergio Agüero may persuade City to target Vardy."

Chelsea bring the most concrete interest to this particular party, with City’s designs on the player being more reactionary.
The Blues have struggled in the scoring departments for much of this campaign. While the defence was largely the issue as this 2015/16 season got underway, they have looked increasingly solid in the last month or so. However, Chelsea have failed to take their chances in the attacking third, helping them to rack up nine league losses already.
Diego Costa has been truly awful, to the point that the Spanish international was booed throughout last Saturday’s Sunderland win and down the tunnel as he trudged off in the second period. After scoring 20 goals in 26 Premier League appearances last season, Costa has netted just four times in all competitions so far in this campaign.

The striker has recently been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Jackson Martinez lined up in a potential swap deal. Nonetheless, with Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao not being afforded the opportunities to get up to speed, Chelsea desperately need a match-fit and in-form striker.
Vardy has scored a whopping 15 goals as the sensational Leicester side lead the top tier of English football. After rising up from the depths of the non-leagues, the Englishman is now one of the hottest properties in the country. The Foxes will be strongly averse to selling one of their talismanic players as they seek the unthinkable in Premier League glory, but this story claims that a £30 million offer may do the trick.
The Blues did looked improved in their first game following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal, but it is unclear whether this was due to the proverbial shackles being cut loose or due to the fact that Sunderland suck. Either way, Vardy would be a welcome addition to the squad.

Furthermore, in his current form, such a fee is a bargain. However, it must be stated, as with most of these rumours, that the report likely has little grounding. But speculating is fun, right?
