34. Joe Cole: 2003-10

Joe Cole was the tricky winger brought in to replace the legendary Gianfranco Zola and he did his best to live up to that incredible standard. While Zola was one of the greatest players to pull on the shirt, Cole ended up being quite good himself.

Making 280 appearances, scoring 39 goals, and notching 33 assists in seven seasons, Cole was a key member of the Chelsea sides that won three Premier League titles in the 2000s. He, along with Arjen Robben, provided trickery and pace to complement the steel of players like Michael Essien and Claude Makelele.

Cole’s true potential was never reached because of chronic injury problems but he was a joy to watch when fit and on form. His Chelsea career ended prematurely because of those injuries but he will always be fondly remembered at Stamford Bridge.
