With the winter transfer window open, let’s see what rumours regarding Chelsea FC are flying around the press on this fine Saturday morning.
It’s back! The January transfer window opened this morning with Premier League teams (and their European counterparts) now free to buy and sell players until the end of the month. Here at The Pride Of London we like to give you a daily round-up of all of the stories knocking about . Most of these are incredibly speculative, but we will pursue those with more grounding throughout the rest of the day.
More chelsea fc: Guus Hiddink Eases Pressure On Diego Costa, Blames Midfield
Jackson Martinez
The Atletico Madrid forward has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last week or so, having struggled to settle into Diego Simeone’s style of play so far. Now, the bookies have shortened the odds of him signing for Chelsea with a potential swap deal involving Diego Costa in the offing. Having said that, the shift in odds could be easily down to a few maniacs slapping big bets on.

Breel Embolo
FC Basel striker Breel Embolo has been touted as an alternative solution to Chelsea’s striking crisis. With the poor production from the Blues’ three designated goal-getters, expect the rumours for this transfer window to be striker-heavy. The Swiss club are thought to be holding out for a fee close to £20 million for the exciting 18-year-old as he attracts interest from a number of clubs around Europe.

Amadou Diawara
Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara is another player linked with a Stamford Bridge switch this morning. The Guinean has caught the attention of scouts around the continent with numerous clubs reportedly keen on securing his services, including neighbours Tottenham Hotspur. The 18-year-old is valued at over £10 million, despite this season being his first in top level football.

Oumar Niasse
This rumour perhaps takes its place on the more speculative end of the spectrum for today, with the sole source being Italian publication CalcioMercato. The Lokomotiv Moscow forward is believed to have held the attention of the Stamford Bridge officials, with interest supposedly carrying over from the summer. He has impressed with 12 goals so far this season and should be one of the cheaper options on the market this winter.
