With the winter transfer window open, let’s see what rumours regarding Chelsea FC are flying around the press on this fine Friday morning.

The January transfer window is now open, meaning that Premier League teams (and their European counterparts) are free to buy and sell players until the end of the month. Here at The Pride Of London we like to give you a daily round-up of all of the stories knocking about . Most of these are incredibly speculative, but we will pursue those with more grounding throughout the rest of the day.

Ezequiel Lavezzi

Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to land Ezequiel Lavezzi’s signature, with sources in Italy claiming that his representatives met with Stamford Bridge officials on Thursday to discuss a switch. The Paris-Saint Germain forward is a target for a multitude of clubs, given that his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. However, Chelsea are believed to be the ones in pole position to bring in the 30-year-old Argentine.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

God some of this stuff is ridiculous…Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Blues, as Chelsea apparently prepare for a future without Eden Hazard. The Arsenal winger is full of potential, but consistent injury issues (a theme at The Emirates) have hampered his progress. Nevertheless, a healthy Ox is a dangerous weapon and the Blues may be willing to splash the cash on the Englishman.

This remark from my colleague on our Twitter account sums it up really.

Eden Hazard

Speaking of Eden Hazard, the Belgian has been rumoured to have decided that his future is not at Stamford Bridge although he is willing to wait until the end of the season. Real Madrid are the main club linked with the winger, but now Manchester United are supposedly plotting a daring swoop for Hazard. While Chelsea fans may be open to seeing his back, a move to a rival club in the same league is unlikely, even if the Red Devils offer £65 million.

Charly Musonda

Amidst calls for Guus Hiddink to utilise some of the younger players, Charly Musonda will reportedly be made available for loan. The 19-year-old has been devoid of meaningful football in the first half of the season as he has failed to turn out for the senior team. Given his age and incredible potential, he will undoubtedly welcome the loan and the opportunity for regular minutes that it brings. However, Chelsea fans will be disappointed that he won’t be afforded that game-time at Stamford Bridge.
