With the winter transfer window open, let’s see what rumours regarding Chelsea FC are flying around the press on this fine Sunday morning.

The January transfer window is now open, meaning that Premier League teams (and their European counterparts) are free to buy and sell players until the end of the month. Here at The Pride Of London we like to give you a daily round-up of all of the stories knocking about . Most of these are incredibly speculative, but we will pursue those with more grounding throughout the rest of the day.

Carlos Bacca

Chelsea are reportedly keen to add another Colombian striker to their ranks as they weigh up a move for AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca. The striker is thought to be commanding a fee around the £30 million mark given that he still has over three years to run on his contract. Having said that, Bacca is already 29-years-old and thus such a high-asking price may thwart any potential deal.

"According to Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo, Guus Hiddink is busy scouring the market for a forward to bolster his attacking line and would like to bring Bacca to Stamford Bridge. – The Daily Star"

Goncalo Guedes

Benfica attacker Goncalo Guedes is the 19-year-old wonderkid who has supposedly caught the attention of almost every big club on the continent. The winger has even been labelled as the next Cristiano Ronaldo with pundits and fans expecting Guedes to achieve great things in his career. Chelsea are, of course, one of the interested parties but one of the hottest talents in football won’t come cheap. Benfica have tied him down to a incredibly long-term contract and it would require a £45 million bid to activate the teenager’s release clause.

"The 19-year-old, who is already valued at £45m, has also been watched five times by Chelsea. Guedes has been dubbed ‘the next Cristiano Ronaldo’ and is being chased by a host of big clubs. – The Daily Star"

Eden Hazard

Rumours of Eden Hazard making a Stamford Bridge exit continue to do the rounds. Having been linked with a mega move to Real Madrid and a surprising Manchester United switch, it is the other Manchester club that has now been thrown into the fold. The Belgian has apparently resolved to stick with Chelsea until the summer, but if these stories are to be believed (ahem) it will be open season when the transfer window comes knocking again.

"Belgium team-mates Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne will play a key role in trying to persuade Hazard, 25, that the Etihad Stadium is the right place for one of the world’s top stars. – The Sun"

Radamel Falcao

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has endured yet another torrid season in English football. After being awful at Old Trafford last season, Jose Mourinho tried to resurrect his career. He was unsuccessful as Falcao continued to be both terrible and injury-prone. It has been thought that he would return to Monaco this January, but the French club have apparently told him to stay at Stamford Bridge. Their inability to pay his wages may be the reason.

"The Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season after Monaco ruled out taking him back early…Monaco believe he faces an extended spell out of action, meaning recalling him to the Stade Louis II is not an appealing option. – The Guardian"
