With the winter transfer window open, let’s see what rumours regarding Chelsea FC are flying around the press on this fine Saturday morning.

The January transfer window is now open, meaning that Premier League teams (and their European counterparts) are free to buy and sell players until the end of the month. Here at The Pride Of London we like to give you a daily round-up of all of the stories knocking about . Most of these are incredibly speculative, but we will pursue those with more grounding throughout the rest of the day.

Graziano Pelle

This is a new one for you. Southampton forward Graziano Pelle will reportedly have to wait until the summer for contract negotiations to open and thus his suitors have been put on alert. The Italian has one season left to run and the likes of Chelsea are supposedly weighing up a deal to take advantage of the situation. This development indicates that the Saints are not excessively keen to commit to the 30-year-old and a cut-price fee may consequently be in the offing. You want?

Patrick Bamford

Guus Hiddink has publicly stated that Patrick Bamford must first prove himself before he can be involved in senior squad affairs. On the back of that, QPR are apparently interested in chucking him a lifeline to save the youngster from U21 football at Cobham. Bamford had a well-documented torrid time with Crystal Palace and the 22-year-old is reaching breaking point in his career. Ex-Chelsea great Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is willing to rescue him down at Loftus Road.

Radamel Falcao

The Colombian striker has continued to be nowhere in the picture due to some evidently troublesome injury problems. Falcao had failed to show improvement from last season in the few games that he has played and has recently been sidelined with god knows what. While a potential return to Monaco was touted, it has thus far failed to materialise and it was a medical that was the issue. Not even his home club wants him in the state that he is.

"“He came over and had a medical. Unfortunately, he was injured. So we took the decision that it would be better for him to stay with Chelsea.” – VP Vadim Vasilyev via The Daily Star"

Adrian Semper

It is refreshing to see a prospect’s name come up as the Blues have been linked solely with established and/or washed-up stars so far. Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Adrian Semper has reportedly been subject to a failed £3.1 million bid from the Blues. Michael Emenalo even travelled to Croatia to negotiate terms personally but there is still some work to do to secure the 18-year-old’s signature.

"The club’s technical director Michael Emenalo travelled to Croatia to meet with Dinamo manager Zoran Mamic to discuss a possible deal…The offer from the Premier League champions was believed to have been worth up to £3.1million. – The Express"
