Today could not have gone much better for Chelsea FC as they dispatched MK Dons in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Chelsea fans enjoyed a great Sunday afternoon as the Blues cruised past MK Dons and into the fifth round of the FA Cup. The club were rampant as they put a whopping five goals past the hapless hosts.
It was close to an ideal day for Guus Hiddink’s men as well as being a crowd-pleasing one. Ruben Loftus-Cheek started the contest, Oscar scored a hattrick and Bertrand Traore came on with over 30 minutes left, hitting the back of the net too.
Chelsea took the lead in the 15th minute through Oscar, but a MK Dons equaliser six minutes later threatened to ruin the day. This sentiment only grew in weight when the Blues failed to take any of a number of chances against a non-existent defence.
Fortunately, the Brazilian scored his second just after the half-hour mark with a neat finish.
He then continued an apparent trend of increasing the quality of each goal by making it 3-1 moments before half-time. Some more abysmal Dons defending (a feature this afternoon) facilitated the strike, but it was a great effort nonetheless.
The second half saw the Blues continue in the same vein as they received opportunity after opportunity. Eden Hazard confirmed the result from the penalty spot, a goal which was followed by Bertrand Traore’s entrance for Diego Costa. The exciting youngster bagged one himself with a neat left-footed finish to put Chelsea 5-1 up, the scoreline at which the contest would end.
Chelsea went about their business in a leisurely fashion, as that was all they required. MK Dons were lacking in defence and the Blues could have easily neared double figures if they had taken their multitude of glorious chances. That’s not even a joke.

Traore was afforded a significant amount of playing time and looked great on the field, playing in the striker role. Hazard, meanwhile, kissed the badge on his shirt after hitting the back of the net, winning over some sceptical Blues fans in the process.
Baba Rahman also played the full 90 minutes in the left-back slot and was more than capable in both the attacking and defending departments.
Despite Willian hobbling around towards the end of the game, Chelsea also came out of the contest with no evident injury problems or niggles. Simply put, this was a great day out for all associated with the club.
