3. Courtois Shows Class

With Watford getting no fewer than seven shots on goal in the first half, Thibaut Courtois had plenty to do. The young goalkeeper kept the hosts at bay with a couple of nice saves, ultimately keeping a clean sheet for his club. Without his efforts, Chelsea may well have been a goal or two down at halftime.

The 23-year-old has come along leaps and bounds this season as he continues to learn the tricks of the trade. With no Petr Cech to mentor him, he has been largely on his own throughout this Chelsea ordeal and despite a few hiccups here and there, he is showing his class.

Some may question whether Courtois is as good as his predecessor and while he may not be at the moment, he is still developing and is on course to perhaps even surpass the former number 1.

It is a bit of a shame for Asmir Begovic, though, as he performed admirably when the Belgian was sidelined for an extended period as the season got underway.
