5. Manchester United Next

While the players and fans will be disappointed not to have snatched a late winner, it also would’ve been devastating to take a loss with Manchester United looming this Sunday. Games against the big clubs always seem to have an extra bit of edge to them, and getting one over on United could do wonders for the confidence of the squad.

Louis Van Gaal has been under pressure all season long, but their performance against Stoke City on Tuesday evening was encouraging. They finally played some entertaining and free-flowing football, being rewarded with three goals.

Stoke aren’t a poor team either, so the Blues will have to be at the top of their game to hold off a buoyed Red Devils outfit on Sunday. Chelsea’s perilous position means that they could fall as far as 15th should they fail to garner any points and such a result would plunge the club back into the chaos that we thought had been left behind.
