Massimiliano Allegri Responds Bizarrely To Chelsea FC Rumours
Massimiliano Allegri has responded bizarrely to rumours suggesting that he is set to take over Chelsea FC in the summer, stating that there is ‘nothing’ in the reports.
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has been strongly linked with the Stamford Bridge hotseat in recent days, with Italian media outlets even reporting that an agreement had already been reached. However, the man himself has finally commented on the situation, refusing to confirm or deny the speculation.
"There’s nothing to it. I cannot either confirm or deny something that doesn’t exist. I want this matter over and done with now. What’s important for me right now is to get to the end of the season with Juventus and try and win some silverware. – via Sky Sports"
More chelsea fc: Disconnect Between Chelsea FC Fans and Board Uncomfortably High
This is a bit of an odd response from the 48-year-old. Allegri’s choice of words does little but leave the door open to more talk. The more devious journalists will undoubtedly pick up on the fact that he did not deny the rumours and for a good reason. If the Italian was looking to put an end to the story, he would have (and should have) categorically denied such supposed nonsense.
However, he failed to do so and the always classy press will inevitably continue to hang this claim over his head until a permanent Blues boss is announced.
It may be the case that there has indeed been no contact between the respective parties, but his comments could be viewed as a bid to potentially force some negotiations from the Stamford Bridge officials.

Again, it must be reiterated that this is what the tabloids will likely do, unfair or not.
Juventus are looking to secure their fifth consecutive Serie A title, but they will have a tough time doing so. They have won their last three by at least nine points and the last two campaigns have seen them finish a whopping 17 points clear at the top of the table.
Napoli, though, have provided a stern challenge this season and Gonzalo Higuain has driven them to Italy’s summit, where they sit two points ahead of Juve. Allegri will have his hands full, especially with the top two squaring off with each other this weekend.
After his scintillating performance last term, the former AC Milan boss will see this as an opportunity to prove his managerial and leadership credentials when there is strong competition.

Despite his denying/not denying/dismissive comments, the Italian will still be considered the front-runner to succeed Guus Hiddink in the summer. Don’t expect any speculation to die down after this.
