1. Ivanovic Captain

One of the subplots to the game, and the most worrisome for Chelsea fans would be the absence of John Terry. A player like him, especially in the heart of the defense, is incredibly hard to replace. The loss especially hurt considering Kurt Zouma was also unavailable due to his season ending injury.

Last Saturday we saw Branislav Ivanovic slide into central defense, a position he does have some experience with. Ivanovic would get the start next to Gary Cahill, and also wear the captain’s armband. Aside from some early PSG onslaughts, the pair performed admirably against the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lucas Moura and Angel Di Maria. If Terry continues to struggle with his injury, the pair will have time to build a partnership ahead of the reverse fixture.
