2. Cesc Fabregas is hitting form

The Spaniard’s lackluster performances under Jose Mourinho earned him the ire of supporters earlier this season. Since the arrival of Guus Hiddink and subsequently the re-emergence of John Obi Mikel in the first team, Fabregas has showed how influential he can be.

The midfielder did not have a sparkling game against Southampton. However, he was always looking for the ball, playing short and quick passes and driving the team forward.

The Spaniard’s equaliser was key for the Blues and whether you consider it a lucky goal or not, his performance was indicative of the confidence he is now playing with. Fabregas is hitting form at the right time with big games against Stoke City, PSG and West Ham United coming up.
