4. Branislav Ivanovic nets the winner!

The stand-in captain has been singled out as one of the worst performers this campaign. Given that he has been such a strong and loyal servant to the club it was good to see him score the winning goal.

Since moving into the centre-back position alongside Gary Cahill, the Serbian seems to be more at home and has put in some solid defensive displays.

He has scored important goals before (two goals against Liverpool, go-ahead goal against Napoli and the winning goal in the Europa League Final) and his winner against the Saints is surely the highlight of his season.

Ivanovic’s resurgence is indicative of how the team is improving on the pitch and let us hope that he continues this level of performance.
