3. Stoppage Time Sucker Punch

All things considered, going into halftime down 1-0 to a surging Chelsea squad wouldn’t be the worst outcome. With a slim deficit, and the support of the home crowd, Norwich may have felt they could nick a goal and get themselves right back in the game.

Instead, they were on the wrong end of a controversial goal by who other than Diego Costa. The polarizing forward tried to hold his line and sneak past the Norwich defense. The linesman’s flag stayed down, and Costa was able to chip the goalkeeper, with no defenders around him. Replays showed that Costa was likely offside, but the call was missed. Due to the error by the linesman, instead of a nervy 1-0 lead, Chelsea were able to take a more comfortable two goal lead into halftime.
