4. Barry and Costa Sent Off

In what turned out to be a foul-filled second half, both Gareth Barry and Diego Costa were sent off for receiving two yellow cards. Costa received his caution for getting in a row with nearly every Everton defender during the first half. His second came after some extracurricular activities following a common foul.

Just minutes after they got the man advantage, Everton were reduced to ten after Barry picked up his second yellow card. The game was already 2-0 at that point, but Barry put just a bit of pressure back on his side by making the game even-strength again. The two sending offs capped a busy day for all the officials, with a multitude of fouls and offside calls being made.
