Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kenedy are the latest players to be involved in Chelsea FC transfer rumours, as reports claim that some high-profile moves are in the offing.

After Chelsea FC’s loss at Goodison Park this past weekend, the club’s season is all but over. With that, the press and the fans have turned to the summer reshuffle that has been touted in West London as the rumour mill swings into full force.

The latest stories regard two contrasting players. The first is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede confirmed that he will be leaving Paris after PSG secured their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title on Sunday. Following what was deemed an inevitable piece of news, many clubs have been linked with a move for the striker. Chelsea are, of course, one of them with The Daily Star citing sources in France while claiming that a two-year contract offer will be tabled.

"French website FootMercato claim the Blues have offered the Sweden international a two-year, £19.5m contract…And FootMercato reckon London is his preferred destination, giving Roman Abramovich a huge boost."

Despite being 34-years-old, Ibrahimovic will undoubtedly be hot property when his contract expires. The fact that he has already hit the back of the net 31 times in competitive matches for PSG this season underlines that the big man still possesses unrivalled quality.

However, such a report must be questioned purely based on the rebuild that Chelsea need this summer. It is largely expected that the club will focus on young talent that can be embedded into the incoming manager’s philosophy. Ibrahimovic is the type of player who has a team moulded to his style of play. Given that his sights are probably set on retiring in the near future, this is not what the club needs.

The other transfer rumour to emerge regards Chelsea’s young star, Kenedy. The Brazilian has found his calling at full-back in recent weeks as he has deputised during a defensive injury crisis and now Barcelona are supposedly interested in signing him.

The Daily Star also carries this rumour, citing Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo in their article. The Spanish champions have apparently trailed Kenedy from his days in Brazil, but have been hesitant to splash the cash until now.

"The Catalans have been keeping tabs on the versatile 20-year-old for several years and even attempted to land him during his time with Brazilian side Fluminense…according to Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga giants are keen again ahead of this summer’s transfer window."

This is a rumour that will concern Blues fans. Kenedy has been one of the shining lights in this atrocious season and seems set to excel in his career. The Brazilian is a talent that must be kept at Stamford Bridge at almost any cost.
