4. Oscar

Brazil will evidently not be taking part in the EUROs this summer, but they have an equally important competition to look forward to. 2016 marks the centenary of both CONMEBOL and the Copa America. As a result, they are celebrating with a special Copa America Centenario.

Oscar has been included in their latest squad, despite his poor form with the Blues. Brazil have two huge games over the next week as they take on Uruguay and Paraguay in 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. The midfielder will desperately need to catch the eye if he wants to feature heavily in the summer.

Unfortunately, he may not actually receive an opportunity to do so. Oscar was an unused substitute and a 85th minute replacement during Brazil’s last two games, underlining his current standing in the squad. Hence, the 24-year-old could find himself restricted to bench once again this week.

It is not a great situation for Oscar with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Luiz Gustavo, Douglas Costa and Chelsea teammate Willian all ahead of him in the pecking order. Given his failure to improve with the Blues, he is unlikely to be used significantly in the next two games.

For Oscar, his best bet is to take whatever opportunity comes his way at Stamford Bridge. With the season winding down, he is arguably playing both for his spot in the Copa America squad and his Chelsea career. The midfielder seriously needs to step up to the plate.
