Look! Free stuff! Chelsea FC are giving away a free replica shirt of the 2015/16 home kit as they look to boost subscribers to their Chelsea TV service.

In an evident ploy to sedate what is still an infuriated fanbase, officials at Chelsea FC have decided to give away a replica home shirt for free when you subscribe to Chelsea TV.

If you really are that devoted to the Blues, take out a yearly subscription for £45 in order to receive your complimentary top. You also get all of this…

"If you join Fan Club Standard for 12 months the package will include unrivalled online access to more than 25 live games each season including exclusive pre-season and Academy matches, full-match replays and extended highlights of the first team in action [and] the manager’s media conferences. – via chelseafc.com"

Sound good?

Personally, this is not worth it. But then, perhaps I don’t bleed blue as much as you do.

The club have thrown together this deal partly in order to appease the fans given the awful campaign that they have had to endure. However, the fact that they probably have a new shirt on the way next season and thousands of unsold items in the warehouse is the deciding factor in this giveaway.

If Chelsea TV isn’t your thing, you can get your hands on a shirt from the club megastore for just £24.50, a saving of £30.50 on its original price.

What was that about getting rid of unsold units?

This offer can be taken as an indication that the poor performances on the field have indeed had a slight impact on the club’s commercial revenue streams. Chelsea are still building their worldwide brand and thus need to maintain success on the pitch in order to keep the money flowing in the offices.

Anyway, Aston Villa tomorrow. What are your predictions? Do you even care?
