Chelsea FC 4-0 Aston Villa: five talking points
2. Loftus-Cheek scores
Youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been gradually getting more first team minutes and was finally able to bag his first Barclays Premier League goal. It would ironically be John Obi Mikel with some fancy footwork to dodge a couple of Villa defenders. He then found Cesar Azpilicueta free on the right flank,;his first time low cross found Loftus-Cheek, who redirected it into the back of the net.
The goal exemplified his box-to-box abilities, and will have surely delighted Chelsea fans as they got a glimpse of what could be. This will be the first of hopefully many for “RLC” in a Chelsea shirt.
As one of the star graduates from the Blues academy, many are touting Loftus-Cheek to be one of the central figures in Chelsea’s revamped side next season. He should feature regularly as this campaign reaches its conclusion, with a chance to confirm this sentiment and prove his worth on the line.
