3. Pato makes immediate impact

Alexandre Pato finally made his senior debut following a loan move from his native Brazil, and he made the most of it by scoring a goal. He came on as a substitute for Loic Remy, and earned a penalty before the end of the first half.

He darted in behind Aly Cissokho, who in turn bungled over him in attempts to make up for his defensive lapse. Pato may have went down a bit easily, but it was a penalty nonetheless. The forward stepped up confidently, and beat Brad Guzan to his right.

The Pato experiment hasn’t been beneficial for either party thus far, but if he’s able to show signs of quality over the last few games, maybe his stint in London could be extended. The player will certainly be aware of this and with Loic Remy injured, he should start next week’s game. Diego Costa will be serving the additional game of his suspension so hopefully Hiddink will place faith in the previously prodigious Brazilian.
