The latest transfer rumour to emerge claims that probable Chelsea FC boss Antonio Conte wants Romelu to be resigned by the Blues when he arrives.
With reports swirling that Antonio Conte is set to put pen to paper on his Chelsea FC deal at some point today, the latest associated transfer rumour to emerge suggests that he will be eyeing a former Blues striker. Romelu Lukaku has been showcasing his quality with Everton and the Italian is eager to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.
The Guardian is the source of the story, as they state that Conte is looking to make the big Belgian one of his premier signings this summer. It is believed that a bid in the region of £50 million will bring Everton to the negotiating table.
"Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to re-sign Romelu Lukaku after identifying the Everton forward as a key target…Everton are likely to fight any efforts to prise Lukaku away from the club, but an offer in excess of £50million would leave the Merseyside outfit battling to hold onto the player."
Lukaku has been on fire at Goodison Park, coming into his own during this campaign. The Belgian has hit the back of the net 25 times for the Toffees this season, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best strikers.

The Belgian has always had potential and was widely touted as Didier Drogba’s natural successor when he was developing at Stamford Bridge. However, after failing to be afforded consistent opportunities with the Blues, he joined Everton in 2014 for nearly £30 million.
After a 20-goal campaign last time out, Lukaku has already passed that tally despite Everton’s general struggles. As a result, many big clubs around Europe have their eyes on the Belgian. He has all the qualities needed to become a world-class striker and at the age of 22, the sky is seemingly the limit.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is rightly trying to play down the prospect of his departure and the Toffees will inevitably require a significant offer to sell a player who still has three years left on his contract. Having said that, the club’s failure to kick on and establish themselves as a top six outfit may cause the striker himself to push for a move.
Lukaku is a forward worthy of a Champions League-calibre club, not one that is floundering in mid-table. This brings us onto the Chelsea issue. Given the Blues awful campaign (and fears that the recovery may take some time), it seems unlikely that the Belgian will choose the West Londoners should a bid from the likes of Bayern Munich come in.

Better start looking down that list, Antonio.
