5. Two matches that count
The season is dead. We all know that. As a result, Chelsea fans have little to get excited about as the 2015/16 Premier League campaign reaches its end.
One of the more attractive propositions was the idea that academy talent would be used. However, last weekend showed that such a plan is not as joy-evoking as was first hoped.
In essence, the Stamford Bridge faithful have only two things to care about. They are the club’s games against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. Even when there is literally nothing to play for, clashes with fierce rivals and big clubs can still provoke emotion.
The fans will want to win this match tomorrow. The consequences of a victory simply don’t matter, they just don’t want to be beaten by a rival and be subject to…well…sh*t chat from their fans. City v Chelsea is usually one of the Premier League’s biggest games and while it may have lost some gloss from a neutral’s perspective this season, it is still important to Blues fans.
